For over 30 years the Hammel Family has operated various businesses in Pleasant Valley, West Virginia. The current day Hammels Clothing and Boot LLC is located in the historic general store building that was originally a post office in the late 1800's. Pleasant Valley is a scenic small community in the rolling hills of northern West Virginia, just a 10 minute drive will put you into Pennsylvania and a 15 minute drive will put you into Ohio. We are about 30 minutes from Wheeling, WV. If you plan to visit us, we are on US Rt. 250 in Pleasant Valley, WV. On a map it is halfway between Cameron and Moundsville.
Over the years valuable lessons have been learned, and points proven time and time again and as a result customer satisfaction is first and foremost as word of mouth can make or break any retail business, especially in a small community like Pleasant Valley.
Like other retailers, I had the idea that offering a bigger variety of products at different price points from several manufacturers would increase my sales ...like shopping at a mall, and over the years other lines have been added only to eventually be clearanced to make room to offer more Carhartt. I have learned that to draw customers in and give them a reason to "Come see why we are worth the drive" I would need to take a different approach than my competitors. So yes, Hammel's Clothing and Boot LLC is a specialty shop. It is with this same approach that I developed FastBibs.Com My years of selling the Carhartt line have shown me that bib overalls are the number one most requested item year round and that people who want bibs think of the Carhartt label first.
